Sachin Tendulkar London, June 14 (IANS) Sachin Tendulkar believes that Indian-origin England batsman Ravi Bopara has the “talent to do something special”.
The 24-year-old is considered to be a promising talent in the English team and barring former skipper Nasser Hussain, who was born in Chennai, is the country’s most significant Asian player since the second world war. Bopara could next month become the first Englishman to score four consecutive Test hundreds.

“We had a chat a couple of years ago when we played at Chelmsford,” Tendulkar was quoted as saying by The Guardian during the launch of a book recognising his contribution to the game.

“He (Bopara) looked promising - balanced, well-organised and all he has to do is not to think too much about the external factors, just try to focus on cricket and he has got a fantastic future.

“An individual gets distracted only if he allows himself to be distracted, so it is in his hands. But he has the talent to do something special,” he said.
