Dec 19, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Player swapping has never been a stranger in the world of NBA. Now, it was time for Rashard Lewis to leave Orlando Magic and head towards Washington Wizard. On the other hand, the Washington Wizards would send their treasured player, Gilbert Arenas to Orlando Magic. This news was confirmed through a press conference, held at Verizon Center at 5:15 p.m yesterday.

This deal between the two teams would bring an end to the seven year old relationship between Gilbert Arenas and Washington Wizard. On the other hand, the Orlando Magic are under the impression that incorporating a new player within the team, and that too one like Gilbert Arenas, would definitely uplift the position of the Magics in the league. Rashard Lewis tweeted a few days back that it is now time for him to head towards Washington. He also said that he had a very good time playing for the Orlando Magics and he tried his best, to boost the standard of the team. However, one cannot deny, that this was one of his worst seasons, with an average of 12.2 points and 4.2 rebounds. On the other hand, Gilbert Arenas, who was considered as one of the most “untradable” players for the Wizards, had an average of 17.4 points and 5.6 assists. So many people speculate, that this deal going to be a huge gain for the Magics, while not a very wise strategic move for the Wizards.

Gilbert Arenas, has underwent a $62 million contract with the Magics for the next three seasons, while Rashard Lewis will make $43 million in the next two seasons. However, his contract for the third season has not yet been finalized.
