Rashad McCantsNew York, July 18, (THAINDIAN NEWS) It seems like Rashad Mccants is turning out to be the most “pitiable” and most “misunderstood” player. That also serves as the reason why he is not playing in NBA. Rashad McCants who happens to be a national champion for the University of North Carolina (2006) has been off the field since 2008-2009 before he became a free agent.

The Rockets were the first one to have brought the guard to the training camp in the 2009-2010 season. However, the player encountered an abdominal injury just before the camp was about to open the gates. That sealed the fate of Rashad Mccants in 2009-2010 season of NBA. It’s strange how the player has been off and away from NBA because off odd reasons which doesn’t include any arrests due to drugs or conduct.Ex-Wolves coach Randy Wittman was the one who had stripped Rashad Mccants off his captaincy. Adding to that was Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle who had asked Rashad Mccants to consult a psychiatrist when Dallas had offered him a contract.

Cleveland’s Vegas Summer League team had offered Rashad McCants a spot in summer which was said to be his break which would have landed him in NBA. This time too Rashad Mccants blew his chance as he refused to appear on Cleveland’s mini-camp. Not only that, he never contacted his team to let them know about his absence from the camp. After four years in NBA with an average of 10.1 points per game for Minnesota and the Sacramento Kings, the ex-Erwin High player is undoubtedly the “cursed soul” to be left out by one and all.
