Ranchi disappointed as Dhoni skips home city
April 6th, 2011 - 7:48 pm ICT by IANSRanchi, April 6 (IANS) India’s World Cup-winning captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s home town of Ranchi is disappointed its local hero is giving the city as miss because of the Indian Premier League (IPL), in which he will be leading Chennai Super Kings.
The People of Ranchi were eagerly waiting to give a grand welcome to Dhoni, who led India to win the World Cup after 28 years.
” It is indeed very sad that Dhoni is not coming Ranchi to celebrate the World Cup victory,” said Rajesh Sen, a student St.Xavier’s College, where Dhoni is also pursuing his graduation.
“We were expecting that Dhoni will arrive in the college when he arrives Ranchi. It was expected that Dhoni will arrive Ranchi before IPL. Dhoni has won heart of billions of people by winning World Cup but he has broken the hearts of the people of Ranchi by skipping the city,” said Vineeta , a Dhoni fan.
Dhoni spent a couple of days in Delhi with his wife Sakshi. Dhoni’s parents were preparing to accord him a warm welcome. Sources close to his family members said that Dhoni might arrive in the middle of the IPL.
