evansLas Vegas, May 29, (THAINDIAN NEWS) On Saturday night, the crowd at the MGM Grand Garden Arena had a great treat watching Rashad Evans taking down Rampage Jackson and winning the game after a unanimous decision. The game seemed to have ended the long rivalry between the two players as Rampage Jackson and Rashad Evans went to shake hands with each other after the game and also were seen slapping each other’s back.

From the very first round of the Saturday night light heavyweight bout, Rashad Evans went on to take the lead. He came up with some brilliant shots. Rampage Jackson seemed to be weathering out with each and every stroke of Rashad Evans. On the part of Rampage Jackson, he proceeded slowly during the first two rounds of the game and was able to deliver a strong shot in the third-round of the bout that led Rashad Evans to fall on his back. However, the latter managed to control himself and survive the shot and went for a last take down before he was declared the winner. The two judges’ scorecard read 30-27 while that of the third read 29-28 in the favor of Rashad Evans.

After the win, a jubilant Rashad Evan told to media sources that he “wanted to go in the fight and make him [Rampage Jackson] respect me”. He then mentioned that he knew that to capture Rampage Jackson he needed to deliver a “straight right hand”. Rampage Jackson on his part said that Rashad Evans had an excellent game plan and that he believes his opponent won as he stuck to that plan.
