Kochi, Oct.15 (ANI): Heavy rains may disrupt the One-Day International (ODI) match between India and Australia in Kochi.
The match is scheduled for Sunday but heavy rain and poor drainage facilities at the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium have created water logging on and off the field.
The practice sessions of both teams have already been cancelled due to the heavy rain since Thursday night.
Most of the off-field area is suffering acute water logging, while the pitch remains under plastic cover.
The organisers and ground curators are doing all necessary work to absorb water from the ground.
“Yes, we are certain and confident that if we get at least 24 hours, we can repair all the damages. It is recoverable. We are just worried about the overnight rain,” said Kartik Varma, the venue director.
According to the weather forecast heavy rainfall is expected for the next two or three days in this region. (ANI)
