Railways announce Rs.75 lakh award for Sushil Kumar

Kolkata, Aug 12 (IANS) The Indian Railways Sunday announced a cash award of Rs.75 lakh for Sushil Kumar, who bagged a silver in the 66kg freestyle wrestling contest at the London Olympics.
Railway Minister Mukul Roy also announced a cash award of Rs.1 lakh to Kumar’s guru Satpal Singh.
“Sushil is a Northern Railway official. He won a bronze in Beijing. We were expecting a gold from him. But nevertheless he has won the silver. We are proud of him,” Roy said.
