Rafael Nadal Registers Win Against Feliciano Lopez, Moves To U.S. Open Quarter-Finals

ndalNew York, Sep 8, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Spanish tennis star Rafael Nadal proved yet again that he was going to give his best shot at to U.S. Open this year with the spectacular prowess over the game that he displayed against Feliciano Lopez during the match that held last night. The World No.1 tennis player justified his top ranking by beating his Spaniard opponent by 6-3 6-4 6-4 in the fourth round match of the U.S. Open held at the Arthur Ashe Stadium. With the win, the celebrated tennis star cruised into the quarter-finals of the U.S. Open 2010 where he would be clashing against another Spanish player Fernando Verdasco.

With Tuesday night’s win, not only did Rafael Nadal register a place for himself in the quarter-finals of this year’s U.S. Open, he also added a new feather to his cap as this was the 24-year-old player’s 18th consecutive triumph at a Grand Slam match. The top-seeded player continued with the astounding performance that he has been showcasing as he was able to save all the four points that he faced from Feliciano Lopez while he wrapped up the match with a rather amazing ratio of 34 winners to 14 unforced errors against his Spanish opponent.

Although the stunning performance that Rafael Nadal has been displaying has left many experts as well as his fans rather impressed, it seems that the top-seeded tennis star is not satisfied with the manner in which he has been playing. Following, last night’s victory, the noted tennis player told reporters that he is playing well, however, it was not at his highest level.
