Quinton “Rampage” Jackson Defeats Lyoto Machida Via Split Decision

jack1Auburn Hills, Nov 21, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Quinton Jackson vs. Lyoto Machida was one of the most anticipated fights of the UFC 123 night. Both the fighters left no stones unturned to outshine the other and in the end Quinton Jackson defeated Lyoto Machida via split decision (28-29, 29-28, 29-28). Last night’s interesting bout was held at The Palace of Auburn Hills in the Detroit suburb of Auburn Hills, Michigan.

However, after the fight Quinton ‘Rampage” Jackson praised Lyoto Machida and said that he had to put real effort to defeat the latter. Quinton Jackson said in the post match conference that Lyoto Machida did a great job but the former could not live up to his expectations and said that he “didn’t do” what he wanted to do in the match. The audience saw when the judges announced the results and termed Quinton Jackson as victorious, an expression of surprise came over his face as he could not believe he had won the fight. Quinton Jackson, who played aggressively in the first two rounds, said that he feels that his aggressiveness has earned him the decision.

Quinton Jackson’s honesty is reflected when he said that he will have to give Lyoto Machida a “rematch”, even if he does not want to. The first round appeared to be a close call from both the sides. Lyoto Machida attacked Quinton Jackson in his left leg but the latter managed to take the attack and reply to it with violent punch attempts. However, Lyoto Machida won the last round by attacking Quinton Jackson but at last via split decision the former emerged as the winner. The winner said that he was trying to knock Lyoto Machida out but the latter gave him a tough competition.
