_40100759_collins203Tennessee Titans on Thursday lost against Steelers13-10, albeit Titan’s QB Kerry Collins displayed his skills on the field.

However, missing 2 major field goals and incurring several penalties did not help his grip and some traditional play-calling failed too making Titans gradually lose the battle. Last season Titans had beaten Steelers. At the NFL’s opening season Justin Gage and Kenny Britt did not work wonders afterall when they contributed to the starting offense.

However, Kerry Collins assured Gage with the single TD for Titans, in a 14 yard pass. Gage and Collins work well in combination always and this match was no different.

Collins displayed some great schemes in the pocket, and made it look good for his team, but was deterred by the defense which had tired out. He failed to pressurize Ben Roethlisberger at the second half of the game. Mike Wallace managed a huge catch, and got Steelers on a complacent field-goal placing. Jeff Fisher by this time seemed overworked with why his team carelessly missed 2 field goals.

Titans got a hold of the ball only when there was 2 more minutes for the game to end but could manage little in their last chance. The Steelers had won the coin toss at midnight, and progressed to receive, which was a pretty obvious choice.

By the fourth quarter the Steelers were making up seriously after 2 unsuccessful runs and under the quick alertness of Steelers, the Titans showed a lot of sloppy playing, with several blocked goals, fumbled passes and penalties. Collins tried to regain the situation for better, by making a great pass but that was like a drop in the ocean.
