Proud Fergie hails Giggs and Carrick’s wonder show

London, Oct.1 (ANI): Manchester United coach Alex Ferguson has hailed another Champions League wonder show by Ryan Giggs and predicted that match-winner Michael Carrick will now roar into overdrive.
Giggs bagged his 150th United goal and then teed-up Carrick’s brilliant late winner as the Red Devils came from behind to beat Wolfsburg.
“It’s just unbelievable what Ryan is doing. He has had so many superlatives heaped on him but he deserves them all because he is such a wonderful player. It’s amazing how he continues to show this incredible youthfulness,” The Sun quoted Ferguson, as saying.”It’s as if he is just starting his career for the club. You can heap all the plaudits you like on him because the great thing is it doesn’t affect him one bit. He is just like a young man out there enjoying his football - it’s wonderful to watch,” he added. On Carrick’s performance, he said: “Scoring a goal like that won’t do Carrick any harm at all. He clearly enjoyed himself tonight. We’ve felt he has been a bit slow starting off every season since he came to us. It’s not normally until October that he gets into his stride and I think you will see the same thing again.”
Giggs admitted his 59th-minute goal - which cancelled out a scorching header from Edin Dzeko three minutes earlier - was a lucky one as his shot took a big deflection.
The Welsh wizard, 35, said: “It was a poor free-kick but even though it took such a big deflection I’m still claiming it. I didn’t know that was my 150th goal but I’m proud to do it.” (ANI)
