Professional Football Quarterback George Blanda Dies At 83

george1Sep 28, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The veteran football player George Blanda passed away yesterday at his home leaving his friends and family mourn for his death. The professional football quarterback was 83 years old at the time of his death. George Blanda has played for more that four decades in two teams like the Chicago Bears and Oakland Raiders.

The Oakland Riders released a statement yesterday where it was maintained that the team is deeply saddened by the death of the veteran football player and expressed their condolence by saying that George Blanda will be greatly missed by the team. Previously the owner of Oakland Riders, Al Davis said that George Blanda has the God given killer instinct to make a team win when everything is on line. The family of the player was not available for any immediate comments. The statement released by Oakland Raiders also read that George Blanda was a close friend of Al Davis. The owner, however, has not commented anything to the media. He previously stated that George Blanda was the greatest “clutch” player in the team of pro football.

The Pro Football Hall Of Fame released a statement where it was maintained that George Blanda passed away after suffering a brief illness. The Oakland Raiders’ statement also read that the deepest condolence of the team goes out to George Blanda’s wife Betty and his family. The statement also read that the team grieves with his family at their tragic loss. George Blanda played 26 seasons of professional football and he has scored more points than anyone else in the history. George Blanda is survived by his wife and two children.
