London, June 21 (ANI): Britain’s Princess Margaret was frequently rude to the Queen Mother often mocking her dressing sense, objecting to TV programmes and criticizing her for spending too long drinking, a new book reveals.

The Princess lived alone with her mother from 1952 to 1960.

According to the new biography of Snowdon, Margaret was not always popular among her mothers household staff over her frequent rudeness to her widowed parent, whom she called, in less than aristocratic fashion, Mum.

The book, by Anne De Courcy, says that Margaret would ask her mother: Why do you dress in those ridiculous clothes? as the Queen Mother stopped to discuss something with a lady in waiting.

She [Margaret] would become furious that drinks before lunch [notorious for their potency] would sometimes go on for an hour, so that lunch would not be served until two. Oh for goodness sake, Mum, lets go in, she would complain. We cant go on like this, The Daily Express quoted, as stating the book.

The television was another source of trouble.

Princess Margaret would simply switch it to another channel without a word if she did not like what the Queen Mother was watching, regardless of the latters exposulations. Yet the Queen Mother never lost her temper, the book stated. (ANI)
