Davis Cup Nottingham, June 3 (IANS) India’s Prakash Amritraj advanced to the second round of the 42,500 euros tennis challenger with a 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 win over Briton wildcard Daniel Evans.
The 18-year-old Evans, who won the Jersey challenger in March, managed to claw his way back into the match in the second set, but Prakash proved too good for the teenager in the decider to win the match here Tuesday.

The Indian next plays seventh-seeded Australian Davis Cupper Chris Guccione, who beat compatriot Brydan Klein 6-4, 6-4.

Other Indians in the fray include sixth-seeded Somdev Devvarman, who in his first round match play Australian qualifier Samuel Groth, and Rohan Bopanna, who came through the qualifiers to the main draw, and will open against Russian Alexandre Kudryavtsev.
