Praful Patel appointed deputy chairman of AFC competition’s committee
April 21st, 2011 - 4:20 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, April 21 (IANS) The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has appointed All India Football Federation (AIFF) president Praful Patel as the deputy chairman of its competitions’ committee and also as a member of the ad-hoc committee for member associations.
The ad-hoc committee will act as a consultative body for the AFC executive committee in matters related to member associations in Asia. It will also discuss the development and management of professional football as well as the club licensing system.
The AFC executive committee also decided to appoint I-League chief executive Sunando Dhar and Rajiv Piramal, club director of Pune FC, as co-opted members of the ad-hoc committee for professional clubs for 2011-2015.
The committee will act as a consultative body for AFC executive committee in matters related to professional clubs and leagues in Asia. It will discuss the development and management of professional clubs and leagues as well as the club licensing system.
AIFF vice-president A.R. Khaleel was also appointed as a member of the AFC social responsibility committee for 2011-2015.
