Prabodh knocks out Agarwal in junior tennis

Chennai, Aug 31 (IANS) Suraj R Prabodh knocked out top seed Rishab Agarwal 1-6, 6-3, 7-5, to set up a clash with Niki Kaliyandi Poonacha in the boys singles final of the Indian Oil-Servo ITF junior tennis tournament here Friday.

Poonacha overcame Ronit Singh Bisht 6-2, 6-4, and will go up against third seed Prabodh in the final Saturday.

In the girls singles semifinals, Pranjala Yadlapalli overcame seventh seed Sri Vaishnavi Peddi Reddy 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 and will take on Priya Bhatia who put out fifth seed Vanshika Sawhney 6-4, 7-6(5).

Other results (finals): Boys doubles: 3-Vilasier Khate/Abdullah Shaik bt 7-Anvit Bendre/Rohan Bhatia 7-5, 7-5; Girls doubles: Sri Vaishnavi Peddi Reddy/Spurti Shivalingaiah bt 6-Snehadevi S Reddy/Vasanti Shinde 0-6, 6-3, 10-6.
