Nov. 6, (THAINDIAN NEWS) San Francisco Giants’ ‘The Freak’ was speeding last week for which he was stopped. During the search, the cops found marijuana on the pitcher. Tim Lincecum was driving at a speed of 74 mph in the region of Interstate 5, near Hazel Dell in Washington when his 2006 Mercedes was pulled over by the police.

The officer who approached him smelled pot in his car and requested the star to turn over any pot he was carrying. Obligingly, Tim turned over 3.3 ounces of marijuana to the officer, along with the smoking pipe he had in his car. The Washington State Patrol trooper and spokesperson cited him and let him go. The officer, Steve Schatzel said that since the player did not look impaired behind the wheel he was let go, and that the amount of pot he was carrying was the size of “a human thumb”. The pot looked like it was just enough for personal use.

Tim has pleaded not guilty on Monday and will be appearing in court on the 22nd of December. A pretrial conference is to be held on November 23. He has also been charged with a count of misdemeanor for which he is to pay a fine of $622. The 25-year-old player, has been the top pitcher for the Giants after Mike McCormick, to win the National League Cy Young award [which he received last year].

The team’s spokesman Jim Moorehead said that they were still in the process of getting the whole information and will not issue “a statement till then”. Tim has also decided not to comment along with his agent and both ignored the text messages sent to them.
