Portland Trail Blazers Hire Rich Cho As General Manager

Rich ChoJuly 20, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Rich Cho, who is known to have been the assistant general manager of the Oklahoma City Thunder for a period of nine seasons, has been named the general manager of the Portland Trail Blazers. The team made the announcement on Monday that Rich Cho had been hired by the Blazers although any details pertaining to the terms of the contract has not been furnished to the media.

Despite the fact that the Portland Trail Blazers taking into consideration former Miami general manager Randy Pfund and ex-GM of Cleveland Danny Ferry for the post of GM, the team ultimately took the decision to go for Rich Cho. It has been reported that the 44-year-old former assistant general manager of the Oklahoma City Thunder was the obvious choice for the team after he met with Blazers owner Paul Allen last Thursday in Helsinki, Finland. While talking about his new job, the northwest native revealed that he simply jumped at the offer when it was given to him. At the same time, Rich Cho told reporters on Monday that under him, character, teamwork as well as accountability would be the core values of the Portland trail Blazers.

Describing Rich Cho as the ‘perfect fit,’ team president Larry Miller emphasized that owing to the 44-year-old northwest native’s wide basketball knowledge coupled with business acumen and people skills, he would just be perfect for the organization. Meanwhile, Rich Cho also reiterated that he was humbled and grateful to be part of the Portland Trail Blazers family. Rich Cho would be succeeding Kevin Pritchard who was sacked from his position after the NBA draft last month.
