Pittsburgh Steelworkers To Face Harsh Consequences If They Miss Work For Super Bowl Game

steelers_workersFeb 5, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Come Sunday and every house will have their televisions switched on all for the Super Bowl final match that will commence between two the tough teams Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, steel workers in the Pittsburgh region definitely came across a bad piece of news when they were warned by the management that any one who misses out work on Sunday or Monday will land themselves up in trouble.

Now this certainly has broken the hearts of several Pittsburgh Steelers steel workers many of whom are ardent fans of the home team and eagerly wants to catch all the live action that will be aired on FOX on February 6. A sources reported that U.S. Steel’s Mon Valley Works has already issued a notice to its steel workers that if they remain absent from work then the authorities will be forced to take disciplinary action against them. The news is one that has had flung many of the factory steel workers into a state of despair especially when the home team bears the name of ‘Steelers’ which is a mark of respect shown towards the famous steel industry of the region and its laborious steelworkers. While management has served a strict order, the union workers too have come up with an amiable response towards the issue. Tom Conway, vice president of the United Steel Workers International has already come up with a friendly proposal.

Sources reported that Tom Conway has already sent an e-mail where he has suggested that non-football fans should be selected for the Sunday-Monday shift, adding that a post-game party be held by the management for the workers where they will be able to watch the game on a tape. It has also been mentioned in the e-mail that just because the employee relations manager hails from Philadelphia, he has issued the order.
