This home victory made the winners all more overwhelmed as they are a step closer to their third Super Bowl in six seasons, in which they would compete either against New York Jets or New England Patriots. However, this match was not a linear one. The fate of the match, underwent constant oscillation between the two teams, especially in the first two quarters.

Although the Steelers’ won, the desperate attempts on the part of the Baltimore Ravens were worth the appraisal. Ben Roethlisberger was one of the best performers in the match, as he made 226 yards with two touchdowns. In the climax, it was he, who connected to Antonio Brown, with a 58-yard pass, to enable a TD that led to the Steelers’ victory. Receiver Hines Ward also made a remarkable score with 12-yard catch. Amongst the Ravens, Joe Flacco made 16 of 30 passes in 125 yards. He also made an interception and one touchdown. However, James Harrison sacked him thrice. Ravens coach John Harbaugh said that his mistakes could be forgiven as he fought his best, just like any other players in the team. Ray Rice, on the other hand made 23 yards after his first fumble, while catching a short pass from Joe Flacco in his own territory. He even made another 25 yards, after he was met with his first interception of the season.

With this victory, the Pittsburgh Steelers have paved their path to the 15th conference championship after 1970. The team also made .627 winning percentage, which is considered to be the highest in the history of NFL.
