Jan 24, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Heinz Field was brimming with excitement as the Pittsburgh Steelers went on to silence the New York Jets all through the first half taking a lead of 24-0. Fans themselves could not believe that the Steelers had assumed such a form that they were in no mood to give any kind of scope to the Jets for indulging in action. However, with the second half the Jets somewhat seemed to back in form but ultimately failed to establish their mark since they were ousted by the Steelers for a final score of 24-19.
With the other match taking place between the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears where the Packers ousted the Bears, a similarity popped up between the AFC and NFC matches that for the first time in the last ten years both the conference titles were marked by a touchdown or less. Ben Roethlisberger was the man to watch out for on Sunday. The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback shot up an impressive performance as he went on to complete just 10 out of 19 passes for 133 yards. He went for two interceptions, also running for a vital touchdown marking his position as NFL’s ultimate performer even if it is in the post season. With the AFC win Ben Roethlisberger has successfully marked his playoff record uplifting it to 10-2.
On the other hand it was Rashard Mendenhall of the Steelers who had joined Ben Roethlisberger in giving a hard time to the Jets. The 23 year old running back was the actual back who was actually making it impossible for the New York Jets to go for any action. With such power-packed performances coming from the Steelers, Jets who are usually known for their self-asserting comments were completely crushed down.
