Phillies Wins Phillies-Dodgers Game 5 And NLCS Series

Philadelphia, October 22, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Philadelphia Phillies defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers in the Game 5 and became the winner of the National League Championship Series for the second consecutive time. They have recorded a 10-4 win in the last match which led to their 4-1 series win. In 126 years, Phillies had not won National League Championship Series for two straight times before this. Phillies, who has always been one of the most talented teams of the game has become the National League Series champion for the seventh time. Before Phillies, the team of Atlanta Braves had won two consecutive World Series in 1995-1996.
Phillies who had played tactfully against the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Championship Series, would have to keep up their consistency in the coming games. After this Series win, they would have to take on New York Yankees or Los Angeles Angels, whoever would become the champion of the American League Championship Series.
Phillies were completely charged up in the last match against the Dodgers and dominated them most of the times. Jayson Werth had played well. He had added two homers to the score of the team and with the four homers, Phillies won the match easily. The excited team of Phillies was in a celebratory mood after they have won the game. They were confident about their coming games and expected to keep the consistency. Werth sounded quite confident about the team’s performance when he said, Hopefully we can keep it going.
