Philadelphia Eagles Pick Riley Cooper In Fifth Round

reilPhiladelphia, Apr 25, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Philadelphia Eagles decided to choose wide receiver Riley Cooper in the fifth round of the 2010 NFL draft. The 22 year old player, who is known to have been associated with University of Florida, was picked on Saturday as the 159th overall selection. Riley Cooper was one of the several players who were drafted on the final day from the state schools.

With the wide receiver being selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2010 NFL draft, it took the University of Florida’s record for a wide receiver being picked from Florida Gators to the fifth consecutive year. Many NFL observers feel that Philadelphia Eagles’ decision to go for the 22 year old wide receiver would go in favor of the team as the player might play a unique role in improving the position in the team. The fact that Riley Cooper might be an excellent pick for the Eagles can be comprehended from his impressive resume. The wide receiver ended his career with the Florida Gators with 81 receptions for 1,496 yards as well as 18 touchdowns. Meanwhile. Riley Cooper is the ninth player to be picked from the University of Florida in the NFL draft this year which is just one less from the record ten players selected from the team way back in the year 1978.

Riley Cooper joins a long league of players selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2010 NFL draft. The team selected defensive end Brandon Graham in the first round followed by Nate Allen in the second round. In the third round, Daniel Te’o-Nesheim was picked with as many as four players being selected in the fourth round. Apart from Riley Cooper, Ricky Sapp was picked in the fifth round.
