Yousuf Raza Gilani Lahore, April 19(ANI): Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) Secretary Asif Bajwa will meet Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Tuesday (today) to consider the possibility of the revival of Indo-Pak hockey series along with bilateral cricket ties.

Bajwa said that Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, who is also the Patron-in-Chief of the PHF, had instructed the Interior Minister to also consider the option of reviving the hockey series between the two countries, which were going to restore the cricketing ties.

The PHF may host matches in Lahore, Karachi and Faisalabad, if India agrees to visit Pakistan, the Dawn quoted Bajwa, as saying.

He said that Pakistan had to play a three-match series against India before taking part in the upcoming Champions Trophy, which is scheduled to be held in India in December.

Both India and Pakistan have shown willingness to resume their sports rivalry since Gilani visited India to watch the ICC World Cup Indo-Pak semi-final in Mohali on March 30 on the invitation of his Indian counterpart, Dr Manmohan Singh.

But even though both nations appear keen to revive their cricket ties, there are remote chances of any bilateral series taking place this year because there is no proper window available to fit in a full series in 2011. (ANI)
