Pheonix Mercury Basketball Star Diana Taurasi Tests Positive For mild Stimulant

dianaDec 24, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Phoenix Mercury stand-out Diana Taurasi is hogging the limelight after her attorney revealed to a reputed media outlets that the much-acclaimed basketball player has tested positive for a mild stimulant during her stint in a Turkish professional league recently. The news that the former University of Connecticut basketball star has tested positive for the banned substance was confirmed to the media by her lawyer on Thursday.

While talking to a leading news source on Thursday, Diana Taurasi’s attorney Howard Jacobs reiterated that the 28-year-old player’s A-sample came out to be positive from a laboratory in Turkey while she was participating in a pro-basketball league in the country. The attorney further went on to add that owing to the results of the test, the Turkish professional basketball league has taken the decision of terminating Diana Taurasi on a provisional basis. At the same time, it has also been reported that the Phoenix Mercury player has made an appeal to the league officials that her B-sample be evaluated. Although Howard Jacobs declined to identity the actual substance that has been found in the blood sample of the basketball star, he has confirmed that the substance was not steroid or any kind of recreational drug.

Meanwhile, this is not the first time that Diana Taurasi is hitting headlines for all the wrong reasons. In the month of July last year, the 28-year-old player was taken into custody for driving under the influence of alcohol and had to serve a day in prison with regard to the case. Following the incident, Diana Taurasi was suspended by WNBA for two games.
