PGTI Masters event to carry a prize purse of Rs.8 mn
November 30th, 2009 - 8:24 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Nov 30 (IANS) The Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) Monday said the year ending 2009 Masters will be held from Dec 16 and will carry a prize purse of Rs.8 million.
The event will be held at the Classic Golf Resort, Manesar, and will see Aircel PGTI’s top 60 order of merit players. The tournament will be a 72-hole stroke play championship with no cut.
Announcing the event, Padamjit Sandhu, Director, PGTI, said: “Creating a year ending championship is in line with our endeavour of creating more competitive playing opportunities for our players and acknowledging their efforts and achievements through each year.
“I would like to thank all our tour partners, event sponsors and golf clubs, who have partnered with Aircel PGTI over the last three years to help develop a strong and competitive playing platform for our professional players.”
“PGTI Masters will be developed into a flagship event on the tour over the years, and will witness the highest level of competition in the country.” he added.
