Peter Wilkes Suffers Irrecoverable Injury From Gunshot

wilkis Hattiesburg, Mississippi, October 10, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Peter Wilkes, punter of Southern Mississippi team Golden Eagles had been critically injured after he was shot on Thursday. This incident had taken place when Wilkes was at Union City, Tennessee which is his birth place.

As stated by the sources, this accident has critically injured the punter and risked his life. The sources, however, did not confirm the reason behind this mishap. Larry Fedora, the coach of Golden Eagles was shocked to get the news of the incident. He said that Wilkes was an important player for the team and Wilkes’ accident was a great loss for the team.

Golden Eagles came to know the news before they went to play the match against Cardinals. Coach Fedora informed the press that when the team was leaving for the match, they were informed that Wilkes could not breathe on his own. He also said that the injury of the Wilkes was considered to be “irrecoverable.”

Peter Wilkes, the 18 years old punter had returned home as he was not enlisted in the team that was selected to play at Louisville and the school was having fall break. People want to know the reason for which he met such an accident. Perry Barfield, Assistant Police Chief of the Union City said that they have been investigating the case of Wilkes. It is expected that the investigation reports would surface shortly.

Wilkes has been admitted to a hospital in Memphis for treatment. The officials of the Regional Medical Center reported that he has been admitted in the critical care unit. So far , there is no report of Wilkes’ improvement.
