Peter FehseDec. 23, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Utah Jazz team has obtained Peter Fehse. It is likely that the player is being hailed as a newcomer in basketball circles. Actually, he is a professional basketball player from Germany. So far, he had been playing in the German basketball leagues. He had also played in the Seattle Supersonics for a brief span of time. The Seattle Supersonics changed their name to the Oklahoma City Thunder, and now, he is being traded to the Utah Jazz basketball team.

In their part of the deal, the Oklahoma City Thunder have obtained from the Utah Jazz basketball team Eric Maynor, their rookie point guard, and Matt Harpring. Peter Fehse is being hailed as a prospect. Funnily enough, the trade regarding the German basketball player was not made strictly keeping the interests of the team in mind, but rather because the trade is likely to be beneficial to the team in the present luxury tax situation.

In fact, the obtainment of Peter Fehse is no more than a formality, as far as the team is concerned. They had almost been forced to trade Matt Harpring to the other team, as his contract alone had exceeded the team’s salary cap space. It has become pretty clear from the negotiations in the trade itself that it had strictly been done in order to avoid the further payment of luxury tax. The fact that the Utah Jazz team is not making any significant profit from the deal only strengthens the view. In fact, the coach of the team himself commented that it had been a difficult decision to let go of the two players.
