band02The Permian High School recently basked in the glory of their win against their challenging team Central High School in a football match, with a clear cut victory of 28-6 on Saturday. Odessa Permian High School defensive back Richard Murray struggled hard trying to block Central’s Shawn Marro from progressing on his yardage, in San Angelo. The Central High School putting up a good battle, surprisingly leading 3-0 midway but ultimately swooped down to a piteous loss.

Central head coach Brent Davis told sources that his team had overall shown improvement as a whole unit, which is what really mattered, even though the team collapsed totally not able to withstand the consistent defense schemes by the 4th quarter.

Even Darius Long, of Central High School seemed to display the do-or-die spirit right until the end of the game, when he charged towards the sideline in the fourth quarters. The sophomore receiver made a 21 yard run, with 3 catches made over 26 yards, and it was quite reasonable why the losing team aroused the cheering crowds to sit glued to their seats right till the game ended.

Central offensive lineman Andy Dickson told sources contemplatively, “I’ve got to give props to our defense. They played with all their hearts, and we as an offense need to finish on our drives and stuff like that. But we both got better today.”

Central QB Logan O’Brian fumbled a good slant pass, in the early phase of the game, but managed to push along contributing 12 of 29 for 109 yards, albeit his receivers also missed on some passes.

The losing team’s coach Davis told sources that he was disappointed with his team defense, which needed to improve on how to throw the football.
