Karachi, Mar.28 (ANI): In a bid to augment a fool-proof security arrangement for the UAE series involving Pakistan and Australia, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to hire private security guards.
According to sources, the PCB has allocated a budget of over 100,000 dollars for acquiring the services of private guards during the five one day internationals and a Twenty-20 match which would be played in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
The PCB has also changed the hotel which it had booked earlier for both the teams following Cricket Australia’’s security advisors raised their concern about the safety of the Aussie team,The News reports.
Arranging private security guards for the series would further deflate the PCBs wallet which already is going through a tough financial situation after a series of tour cancellations.
The PCB will have to hire around 70 to 80 private security personnel, at a cost of 100 US dollars daily for a single guard, sources said.
The series which was arranged after Australia refused to visit Pakistan citing security reasons has not got a sponsor till now, but the PCB is hoping that it will make healthy profit from the April 22-May 7 series. (ANI)
