PCB latches on to IPL shifting from India to bring back international cricket to PakMarch 23rd, 2009 - 1:49 pm ICT by ANI
Islamabad, Mar.23 (ANI): The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has said that the decision of shifting the Indian Premier League (IPL) from India has proved its stance that its not only in Pakistan where terrorism can play havoc and target the sport.
We have been saying that security is a problem around the world and a terrorist attempt could be made in any country. The decision of shifting the IPL out of India on security grounds verifies our version, a PCB official said.
He said that it was unfair on the part of the International Cricket Council (ICC) to sideline Pakistan sighting security concerns.
The official added that the board is initiating every step necessary to make international teams visit Pakistan again.
We seek help from all Test playing nations to bring this game back to our country and hope they would better understand our point now, The Daily Times quoted the PCB official, as saying.
Commenting on the issue of Pakistani players taking part in the cash rich IPL, he said the PCB will ask the government to allow the players to participate in the tournament. (ANI)
