PCB draft constitution near consensus between Board, Sports Ministry
July 7th, 2010 - 7:01 pm ICT by ANIIslamabad, July 7(ANI): The Pakistan Sports Ministry and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have reached a mutual consensus over the draft constitution meant to pave the way for the smooth working of the cricket board’s affairs.
The draft was finalised after PCB Chairman Ijaz Butt along with Chief Operating Officer Wasim Bari and legal advisors held a three-hour-long meeting with Federal Sports Minister Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani and Sports Secretary Anisul Hasnain Musavi.
“There is a broad consensus of almost 80 per cent among us [PCB and the ministry] though discussion on few clauses has been deferred,” The Dawn quoted Jakhrani, as saying.
According to reports, the draft constitution, after vetting from the Ministry of Law and Justice, would be sent to Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani and President Asif Ali Zardari for their approval.
After their consent, it will be implemented within a span of six months. (ANI)
