Brady, 33, was driving his sedan when at approximately 6:30 a.m. local time, he was involved in a vehicle accident near his home in the Back Bay area of Boston. He did not suffer any injuries as he was treated at the scene and has already begun his morning practice with the Patriots, which previously confirmed the incident through its Twitter account.
“Patriots QB Tom Brady was in a car accident this morning. He was not hospitalized and is expected at Gillette Stadium today,” the team said, and later added, “Caught up with Brady briefly between meetings. Reports that he’s ok.”
The driver of the other vehicle was reportedly taken to a hospital for further check-ups.
Brady, a five-time Pro-Bowler, is expected to start for the Patriots on Sunday’s season opener against the Cincinnati Bengals. The NFL star has appeared in four Super Bowls, winning three, and receiving Super Bowl MVP honors on two occasions.
