Paris Saint-Germain sign Maxwell
January 13th, 2012 - 3:28 pm ICT by IANSParis, Jan 13 (IANS) Top French league club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) says it has recruited Spain-based defender Maxwell in a three-and-a-half-year deal.
“Maxwell is with us for three-and-a-half-years. He is a player who has an important career. We are happy that he joins today our team,” PSG sports director Leonardo said.
No details were given on the accord’s value.
“The projects and ambitions of the club in the near future motivated me to join PSG,” the Brazilian defender said in remarks posted on the club’s website.
Maxwell, 30, made his first appearance in European leagues in 2001 with Ajax Amsterdam before moving to Italy’s Inter Milan in 2006 for the next three seasons. He joine Barcelona in 2009.
