Pakistani Wicketkeeper Zulqarnain Haider Goes Missing From Dubai Hotel

haifeDubai, Nov 8, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Pakistani cricket fraternity been hit by a brand new scandal after multiple media outlets have reported that wicketkeeper Zulqarnain Haider has gone missing. Reports have claimed that the player did not arrive with his team to the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Monday where his team was scheduled to clash against South Africa in a deciding fifth ODI.

It has been reported that the 24-year-old player was at the receiving end of few threatening messages after his team won the nerve-wrecking fourth ODI against South Africa to level the series. Sources have hinted that Zulqarnain Haider might have been targeted as he scored the match-winning runs in the game and remained unbeaten at 19 in turn guaranteeing Pakistan’s victory and keeping their chances of winning the tournament alive. Pakistan team manager Intikhab Alam has validated reports that the young player is indeed missing from his hotel and did not accompany the team to the ground on Monday. However, the team manager has refrained from making any further comments in this matter. While reacting to the reports that Zulqarnain Haider is missing, team captain Shahid Afridi said that efforts to know his whereabouts are on and the security officials are trying their best to trace him.

With Zulqarnain Haider staying out of the game, the Pakistani team had to make certain changes in its squad for the last match with senior batsman Muhammad Yousuf being roped in to replace the wicketkeeper. Meanwhile, on Sunday, the Pakistani player was fined $136 for violating curfew hours that was set by the management of the team.
