Pakistan have to ‘play clean cricket’ on New Zealand tour, says coach Waqar
December 21st, 2010 - 2:50 pm ICT by ANIAuckland, Dec 21 (ANI): The Pakistan cricket team has to ‘make sure we play clean cricket’ on the tour of New Zealand, in the wake of the match-fixing allegations that have plagued Pakistan cricket, coach Waqar Younis has said.
“At the moment we are a very clean side and the boys are here to play good cricket as we don’t want any of this rubbish which has happened in the past,” the Daily Times quoted Waqar, as saying.
Pakistan Test captain Salman Butt and fast bowlers Mohammad Amair and Mohammad Asif are currently under suspension after being charged under the ICC’s Code of Conduct over allegations they were engaged in ’spot-fixing’ during the England tour earlier this year.
Pakistan will meet New Zealand in two Tests, three Twenty20 matches and six one-day internationals in the seven-week tour, starting December 26. (ANI)
