Pakistan beat Bangladesh by 21 runs (Lead)

Gros Islet (St. Lucia), May 2 (IANS) Defending champions Pakistan beat Bangladesh by 21 runs in a Group A match of the World Twenty20 here Sunday.
Winning the toss and batting, Pakistan were given a solid start by their openers Kamran Akmal (72) and Salman Butt (72), who rustled up a 142-run stand.

Bangladesh could only make 151 for seven with Mohammad Ashraful top scoring with 65 runs while skipper Shakib Al Hasan made 47.

Mohammad Sami, making his Twenty20 international debut, took three wickets for 29 for Pakistan.
