More than half of the stadium was empty as Pakistan’s tour of England went from bad to worse after losing by the match by five wickets.
“It’s bad that there so many serious allegations being levelled at the Pakistani players,” The Daily Times quoted Amir, who came here from Milton Keynes with his family to watch the Twenty20 game.
“But we are still hoping that all’s not lost and that there is still hope for Pakistan cricket. I’ve come here, hoping to watch good cricket,” he added.
Naeem, a student in Newport, said that he expect things to get better for the Pakistan team in the coming days.
“All that’s happened in the past few days will be behind the Pakistan team once the one-day series in full swing and the players are giving their best. All what the fans want is good and fair games and I’m here to watch one,” Naeem said. (ANI)
