Tokyo, Oct 5 (IANS) India’s Leander Paes and Czech Lukas Dlouhy were denied back-to-back title wins by Russian Mikhail Youzhny and German Mischa Zverev, who tamed the top seeds 6-3, 6-4, to win their second Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) event at AIG Japan Open Tennis Championships here Sunday.It is the second time this year Youzhny and Zverev stopped Paes and Dlouhy at a final, having done so at Halle in June to win their first title.
Paes and Dlouhy, who won the Bangkok Open last week, were in hunt for their second straight title victory.
Youzhny and Zverev, who defeated the top three seeds en route final, converted two of their four break points while saving four to beat the Indo-Czech combine in 58 minute.
While Paes was looking for his second win here, after triumphing in 2000 with former partner Mahesh Bhupathi, Dlouhy made his debut at the event.
Paes and Dlouhy, who were on a seven match winning streak before losing the finals, are 24-7 this season.
