Paes-Dlouhy enter Dubai Tennis Championships quarters

Dubai, Feb 23 (IANS) India’s Leander Paes and Czech Lukas Dlouhy have joined Mahesh Bhupathi and Max Mirnyi in the quarterfinals of the Dubai Tennis Championships.
The second-seeded Indo-Czech pair fought off a tough first set challenge from Polish pair Mariusz Frystenberg and Marcin Matkowski before winning 7-6(7), 6-3 here Monday.
Paes and Dlouhy now await the winners of the match between wildcard pair of India’s Rohan Bopanna and Pakistan’s Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi and Frenchman Arnaud Clement and Swede Robert Lindstedt.
Earlier Monday, third seeded Bhupathi and Belarussian Mirnyi defeated Mahmoud-Nader Al Baloushi and Abdullah Magdas of Kuwait 7-5, 6-0. They play the winner of the match between Swede Simon Aspelin and Australian Paul Hanley and Serbians Novak Djokovic and Dusan Vemic.
