Paes-Dlouhy, Bhupathi-Mirnyi advance at Miami
March 29th, 2010 - 7:35 pm ICT by IANSMiami, March 29 (IANS) India’s Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi advanced with their partners to the second round of the men’s doubles event at the Sony Ericsson Open here.
Third seeds Paes and Lukas Dlouhy of Czech Republic overcame a second set fightback from Britain’s Ross Hutchins and Jorden Kerr of Australia before winning 6-4, 7-6(4) here Sunday. `
The Indo-Czech pair now play Brazilian Thomaz Bellucci and Spaniard Marc Lopez who rallied to beat Germany’s Christopher Kas and Dick Norman of Belgium 3-6, 6-3, 10-8.
Fourth seeds Bhupathi and Max Mirnyi of Belarus got the better of Australian Stephen Huss and Wesley Moodie of South Africa 6-4, 7-5.
Bhupathi and Mirnyi now play Americans John Isner and Sam Querry who pulled off a fighting 4-6, 6-3, 10-7 win over Swede Johan Brunstrom and Jean-Julien Rojer of Netherlands Antilles.
