‘Out of form’ Younis loses his cool, refuses to talk to media
January 3rd, 2010 - 1:52 pm ICT by ANIKarachi, Jan.3 (ANI) : The prolong failure with the bat seems to have angered former Pakistan captain Younis Khan, as he lashed out at the media here.
Younis, who is currently playing in a domestic tournament in his bid to return back to the national squad, lost his cool when a journalist asked him for his comments.
Younis, who scored just nine runs in the match in the Pentangular Cup match against Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), said there was nothing special to talk about his performance in the match.
“What do you want to talk about? I have done nothing and I don’t want to talk to the media right now,” an agitated Younis told reporters.
“When I score a century and when I hit form I will talk to you guys,” he added.
Younis’s career has nosedived in the last two months. The PCB had named him as the captain of the squad till 2011 World Cup, and now, he is even struggling to find a place in the team.
Despite captain Mohammed Yousuf’s emergency message to the selectors to send Younis to Australia for the Test series, the board has made it clear that he would not get his tickets for a flight to Down Under unless he performs at the domestic level.
However, chances are that he may be included in the one-day squad for the limited over series which will begin in Brisbane from January 22, but that too depends on his performance in the domestic circuit. (ANI)
