Osasuna beat Real Madrid, stay in premier league

Madrid, June 1 (Xinhua) Osasuna made sure they remain in the Spanish football’s Primera Liga after beating Real Madrid 2-1 in the last round Sunday.
Barcelona won the championship, while Real Betis, Recreativo de Huelva and Numancia were relegated to the second division.

Atletico Madrid qualified for the the Europa Cup for the first time, while Sevilla will accompany Barcelona and Real Madrid in the Champions League.

The new season will begin with the announcement from Real Madrid of its new coach and the possible introduction of Brazilian Kaka as new player.

Xerez from Jaen is the only club from the second division that made sure of a place in the first division together with Zaragoza.

Atletico de Madrid’s forward Diego Forlan won the Golden Boot 2009 after scoring 32 goals in the season. It was the second time he won this trophy.
