Olympic boxing: Vijender in second round
July 29th, 2012 - 5:43 am ICT by IANSLondon, July 29 (IANS) India’s lone Olympic boxing medallist Vijender Singh kicked off his quest for a second with an emphatic 14-10 victory over Kazakhstan’s Danabek Suzhanov in the first round of the 75 kg division at the London Games here Saturday.
Vijender, a bronze medallist at the Beijing Olympics, won all his three rounds with excellent footwork and technique to move into the round of 16. He won the first round 5-4, the second 4-3 and the final round 5-3, staying ahead of the Kazakh boxer.
