Ohio State Quarterback Terrelle Pryor Suspended Along With Four Others

terlDec 24, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Ohio State Buckeyes star quarterback Terrelle Pryor along with four of his teammates have been suspended by NCAA for as many as five games in the upcoming 2011 season supposedly for taking improper benefits. The news that the Ohio State Buckeyes players are facing suspension was announced by NCAA on Thursday. Despite the fact that the news of the suspension of the key players might come as a major disappointment to all the fans of the team, they have something to be happy about as the players are not likely to miss the Sugar Bowl which is scheduled to be held on January 4.

The decision to suspend the Terrelle Pryor and the four other Ohio State Buckeyes player was taken by NCAA after it undertook a thorough investigation over the allegations that a number of players of the team traded signed memorabilia for tattoos as well as other benefits at a leading tattoo parlor in Columbus. While talking about the decision to suspend the players, Kevin Lennon, the vice president of academic and membership affairs of the NCAA said that the suspension were significant penalties which were assigned on the basis of the information and findings that have been provided by the university.

Meanwhile, NCAA officials have reiterated that the players who were found guilty of taking undue benefits would have been suspended for four games but another game was added considering the fact that the players did not reveal details of the violations committed by them even when they realized that it was illegal.
