Oakland Raiders Running Back Michael Bush To Undergo Thumb Surgery Today

michael2Aug 30, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Michael Bush, the running back of the Oakland Raiders, who injured his left thumb during the Saturday night game against the San Francisco 49ers will be undergoing a thumb surgery on Monday. The news was revealed to media sources on Sunday by the Coach of Oakland Raiders, Tom Cable. The Coach however seemed optimistic and held that there are “good chances” that the player will be joining the team on Sept 12 at Tennessee for the season opening game of the team.

Michael Bush, a leading player of the offensive backfield of the Oakland Raiders team broke his left thumb on Saturday during the second quarter of the team’s game against the San Francisco 49ers. It was on his final carry that he was hit by a helmet. Michael Bush reportedly visited a hand specialist on Sunday who advised a surgery on Monday. Although some media sources reported that Michael Bush might continue to practice with some padding on his left thumb area, the Coach of the team held that he is hopeful that the player will not need a cast on the finger as he joins the team at Tennessee.

Michael Bush had played a major role in the team’s offensive backfield area and with the release of Justin Fargas, Oakland Raiders are now pinning their hope on Michael Bush and Darren McFadden. Michael Bush last year had gone for 589 yards rush and this year the team expects to see some more of the player. The running back load of the Oakland Raiders team this season is expected to be shared by Michael Bush and Darren McFadden.
