Now Modi’s ties with Rajasthan, Kings XI questioned
April 14th, 2010 - 10:18 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, April 14 (IANS) The Rajasthan Cricket Association’s (RCA) secretary Sandeep Dixit, a friend turned foe of Lalit Modi, raised some serious questions on the Indian Premier League (IPL) chief’s interest in some of the franchisess.
“I want to ask Lalit, how the franchise contract for the Jaipur team was signed by Jaipur IPL when the bid was by Emerging Media? Do disclose the details about your brother-in-law and step-son and their back-door entries into Jaipur IPL and GCV Mauritius. What I meant was Gaurav Burman, your step son-in-law. Who is Mohit Burman and how is he an investor in Kings XI Punjab?” Dixit, a senior IAS officer in the Rajasthan government, tweeted on social networking site Twitter.
“I love him (Modi) dearly. I am only seeking info,” he wrote on the site.
Modi, who is also regular on Twitter, however, stayed away from commenting on Dixit’s tweet.
A disappointed Dixit wrote: “Lalit is not answering my simple questions. Any ideas what should be done?”
Modi’s brother-in-law Suresh Chelaram apparently holds the maximum 44.1 percent stake in Rajasthan Royals while Gaurav’s brother Mohit is the co-owner of Kings XI Punjab.
