jimmy1Nov.24, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Notre Dame quarterback Jimmy Clausen has been punched by an irate fan outside a restaurant this weekend. Certain reports have emerged which claim that the player was involved in a brawl outside a South Bend restaurant when he was hit by a fan. Supposedly, Jimmy has been hit hard on his face, which left him with a swollen eye. However, the reasons which led to the ugly scuffle has not been confirmed as yet.

Although, the circumstances that led to the altercation is still not evident, a spokesperson at the restaurant has clearly denied that the incident took place inside the restaurant premises. At the same time, a police spokesman at South Bend has added that no police complaint has been lodged that involves the quarter back. However, an employee of the restaurant has reportedly claimed that the incident took place after Jimmy had gathered with his family and teammates at the restaurant following the Notre Dame loss to Connecticut on Senior Day. It has also been implied that the brawl started after an angry fan said something objectionable to the player or one of his female friends who was present with him.

However, chances that the player might miss any forthcoming matches due to the injury that he has received has been ruled out. At the same time, this is not the first time that the promising quarter back has been involved in an off field incident. During the month of June in 2007, the player had created quite a controversy as he was reported to have transported alcohol as a minor.
