No way I insulted AC Milan skipper Gattuso, says Tottenham’s Jordan

London, Feb 18 (ANI): Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp’s deputy, Joe Jordan, has rubbished claims that he provoked AC Milan skipper Gennaro Gattuso , sparking a bitter touchline bust-up in the San Siro.
Gattuso lost control after Peter Crouch’s goal resulted in his side’s defeat on Tuesday and he head-butted Jordan.
.
Gattuso claimed that the Spurs coach called him ‘f****** Italian b******’ in the Euro tie, but Jordan said: “There is no way I said that, no way. It is pathetic for them to accuse me of it.”
“I feel I am entitled to answer the accusation. What they have said lacks a bit of imagination,” The Sun quoted Jordan, as saying.
Milan chief Adriano Galliani has urged UEFA not to treat Gattuso like a criminal following Spurs’ 1-0 win on Tuesday.
Gattuso has been charged with unsporting behaviour but escaped the more serious charge of assaulting players or other persons, which carries a minimum three-match ban.
UEFA’s disciplinary committee is due to meet on Monday to decide Gattuso’s fate.
Only Manchester United’s Paul Scholes has collected more yellow cards than Gattuso in UEFA competitions. (ANI)
