NHL Awards 2010 Turns Out To Be A Star Studded Affair

awardLas Vegas, June 24, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Pearl Concert Theater at the Palms casino in Las Vegas was the place to be in on Wednesday when all the highly acclaimed players of the National Hockey League attended the 2010 NHL Awards which was there with much elan last night. The gala event which was also aired live across United States and Canada managed to live up to the expectations of the large number of audiences who had tuned in to watch the much-anticipated award ceremony.

The 2010 NHL awards surely turned out to be a dream come true for Vancouver Canucks’ Henrik Sedin who was awarded the much coveted Hart Trophy by garnering a whopping 894 total number of votes from the Professional Hockey Writers Association which enabled him to beat Washington Capitals star Alex Ovechkin by around 50 votes. The win must have surely been special for Henrik Sedin as he became the first player in the history of his team to register the Hart Trophy. However, for the Washington Capitals star winger the night did not end without a win as the noted player was honored with Ted Lindsay Award, which is awarded to the most outstanding player of the league.

Moreover, the 2010 NHL Awards also turned out to be lucky for the Buffalo Sabres as Ryan Miller reserved the Vezina Trophy which is given to the best goalie of the year while the Calder Trophy was registered by defensemen Tyler Myers. Pavel Datsyuk of the Detroit Red Wings clinched his third straight Selke Trophy, to the utter delight of all his fans. Apart from these, noted NHL players were honored in a number of other categories in the star-studded event held last night.
